Welcome to the Woodland Wide Web ~ Woodland Grange
Primary School Online. Our site has been built
entirely in-school by staff and children with
support from parents and governors and we are
proud of our many awards.
Please enjoy exploring the various sections of
our site. You can read all the latest News,
get up to date information from the Office,
find out what our Classes
have been doing with many super examples of our
work, take a break in our Playground,
take a school tour
or just leave us a message.
Our site first took to the web in 1997. Since
2002 our children and community have been publishing
to our site both from school and home using 'blogs'.
As a result our site is always brimming with the
latest news! In January 2006 we launched WoodlandWideRadio,
a podcast radio show featuring news, views, music
and entertainment and streamed through our website,
in April 2006 we launched our webcam,
in August 2006 we launched woodle
our VLE and in August 2007 we added our own live
rss and sms news feeds to our site powered by
twitter.
The staff at Woodland Grange have been excited
by the potential of the WWW and have developed
our VLE (virtual learning environment) using moodle
for our children to work on projects online at
home as well as school (E-Learning),
for parents to gain information to support their
children's learning and to involve themselves
in the life of the school (Home-School)
and for teachers to share knowledge and materials,
including interactive teaching resources (Staffroom).
We have also developed three further sites:
iwb.org.uk is a free resource bank
of materials for use with the new technology of
Interactive Whiteboards, ithink.org.uk
is a bank of digital video materials to support
the teaching of PSHE and Citizenship and owl.org.uk
is the Oadby Web for Learning, a community site
for the Oadby, Thurnby and Houghton family of
schools.
