Woodland Grange Primary School Backpack Buddy

We in Reception 1 are very excited! We had a special visitor from Canada staying with us. A moose called Mountie, named after the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Our visitor is travelling with his backpack around the world visitng children like us. He arrived on December 17th and we showed him our school and area and gave him some pictures, photos and writing to take with him. We helped send him on his way to the next destination.

This project originated in Canada and we were invited to participate via our web site. The mascots are sent from school to school at monthly intervals returning to Canada after about 12 months. The schools send to Canada photos etc of the mascot 'enjoying' its stay with the children. This project was an excellent introduction for our youngest children to concept of global communication.
