Champions!
Well done Year 4 and 5 Girls!

Woodland Grange Primary School Cross Country 2005/06

This season has been our most successful yet. At the Mid-Leicestershire Area Championships held at Leysland High School, Woodland Grange dominated, particularly in the girls' events.

The Year 3/4 girls saw Woodland Grange taking the first 5 places through Hannah (1st), Alix(2nd), Georgia(3rd), Holly(4th) and Helena(5th) and claiming the shield with the best possible score! These girls then went on to represent Mid-Leicestershire at the Leicestershire and Rutland County Championships held at Rutland Water, where Hannah and Alix both claimed top ten places.

The Year 5 girls also dominated and won the shield. Anna had a fantastic 3rd place and Coreen, Lisa and Abi also claimed top ten places thus securing their places in the Area team competing at Rutland Water. Here Mid-Leicesterhire won the Year 5 title and our girls were awarded County Medals.

Congratulations also to all our Year 3, 4 and Year 5 athletes who competed in the country's largest schools' cross country event - The Leicestershire Primary School Cross Country League at Western Park.

What a season! The final race in December saw fantastic performances all round. Individual medals went to Hannah and Alix in Year 4 and, for the first time ever, the Year 5 Girls won the championship! Well done all.

The November meeting saw a record turnout for Woodland Grange, with 42 runners, many making their debut! There were lots of outstanding results including a 1st place for Alix and a 4th for Hannah.

The October results included a 2nd place for Hannah, top 15 finishes for all our Year 4 girls and a 10th for Ant.

Will you be competing next year?
