Woodland Grange Primary School New Hall

Our new hall was opened in the Autumn term 2002 by Jackie
Strong: Director of Education. The ceremony was attended
by all staff, children and governors who were joined by
representatives from the building company, Edward Garnier
MP and Councillor Pullen: Chairman of the County Council.

Our new hall is large and well equipped with changing facilities,
storerooms, kitchen, fixed apparatus, four speaker sound
system and stage lighting.

It is a wonderful facility for PE, drama, assemblies, clubs,
concerts, fund-raising events and community activities.

On display in our hall is our huge Millennium Tapestry made
by children at the school in 2000. Each class was responsible
for creating a square. The quilt was assembled by Barbara
Mooney, one of our governors and framed by one of our parents.
Also on display is our Tree of Life made by children at
the school in 1993 with assistance from artists in residence
from Leicester University.
Our hall has already hosted Diwali Dances, quizzes, yoga,
craft fairs, meetings and tennis clubs out of school hours
and there are many more community events planned.
