Woodland Grange Primary School Year 5 Rocket Day!

As part of our Science work in Year 5 we held a ROCKET DAY! The aim of the day was to build the perfect rocket. We investigated paper straw rockets, gas powered pop rockets and water powered rockets. We also designed a capsule for our astronaut Neil Tomatostrong. Our final task was to launch our water powered rocket with our astronaut on board and see whether he survived the mission!

Long vs. short rockets!

Do wings make a difference?

Can we hit the target?

How high can we fire our straw rockets?

Finishing touches to design.

Neil Tomatostrong is secure inside!

Notice the parachute attached!

Complete with seat and seatbelt!

Survived without even a scratch!

Oh no. a minor flesh wound!
