Woodland Grange Primary School Year 5 Trip to Castleton
| One
of our Geography units of work in Year 5 studies a
contrasting locality to our own.
We chose Castleton in the Peak District. |
 |
| Castleton
is a hilly area, famous for its limestone caves. We
walked up a road on the side of the hill Mam Tor.
The road has slipped due to subsidence and is now
impassable to traffic. |
 |
| We
had the most spectacular views of the surrounding
area from the summit of Mam Tor. It is very different
to Oadby! |
 |
| We
also went down into the limestone caves and saw many
wonderful natural formations, like these, 'the seven
dwarves'! |
