Woodland Grange Primary School Year 5 Trip to Castleton

One of our Geography units of work in Year 5 studies a contrasting locality to our own.

We chose Castleton in the Peak District.
Castleton is a hilly area, famous for its limestone caves. We walked up a road on the side of the hill Mam Tor. The road has slipped due to subsidence and is now impassable to traffic.
We had the most spectacular views of the surrounding area from the summit of Mam Tor. It is very different to Oadby!
We also went down into the limestone caves and saw many wonderful natural formations, like these, 'the seven dwarves'!
